Phillip and Lonnie Murphy moved to Haiti in 1986 to assist with an orphanage work already established in Haiti. The founder of that home died before they could get there, so when they arrived, they took in 19 children from that home and founded the House of Blessings. Many of those original 19 children are now serving the Lord around the globe in many areas. Since those beginning days, some 45 children have been helped and today the home helps care for children residing in the home and in the surrounding community of Callabasse.

The House of Blessings' new orphanage building was opened in 2003 and has a capacity of 16 children. The home focuses on responsibility towards God, one another and stewardship of resources.
The orphanage is currently directed by Joana Jean Marie Desir, lovingly known to all as Tania. Phil and Lonnie Murphy left Haiti in 2007 and live in Lake Wales, Florida. The Murphy family is still very involved with the Orphanage. and the community of Callebasse.
Work teams go down more than 6 times a year, and an annual summer camp reaches out to more than 400 children. If you are interested in participating in any of these events, please contact us.
